Description
A familiar site at the Hakalau Wildlife Refuge is the native Pueo. Often seen perched on a fence post, its a treat to see them soaring during the day. Pueo are a subspecies of short-eared owl endemic to Hawai‘i, often seen soaring above grasslands and forests.
