| Okay, what the hell?Basically, the whole reason those coins were not stolen - despite her efforts - is because of the integrity of a human being. If she trusts that person so much (as is stated in the article), why not give those coins to him in the first place? Then again, how about just leaving those coins at home? There was no mention of a burglary while she was gone, so they were absolutely safe exactly where they were. No effort whatsoever was required on her part.Such a pattern is seen all the time: people wrongly assume something terrible will happen if they don't do placebo action X. Then, when nothing bad happens the person becomes convinced that placebo action X saved the day.But what would happen if the coins were stolen? No doubt, such an event would be twisted into some kind of reinforcement as well, e.g. "Mary must have thought I shouldn't care about money." |

"...make private insurance cheeper (sic)."Sorry, the CBO is predicting the exact opposite of this:http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/10/30/politics/p ...Also, skyrocketing malpractice insurance has had a greater effect on health insurance premiums than uncompensated care. Of course, there's no way the Democrats would turn their back on such a key constituency:"An Examiner analysis of the 15 firms on the National Law Journal's "2008 Plaintiff's Hot List" shows that for 2009, their employees have contributed $636,305 to federal politicians and PACs. Only $4,875 of that amount has gone to Republicans, meaning that the nation's top trial lawyers are giving more than ***99 PERCENT DEMOCRATIC*** Democratic this year."http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/be ...In fact, they made it even easier for them to bypass states' tort reform:http://www.cnn.com/2009/OPINION/11/09/frum.trial.l ...Bravo, political hack.
That's pretty impressive, but probably a tad early to call it goal of the year.

So ... don't have health insurance, lose your living privileges??
Good. Too high an approval rating is a waste. It means you aren't pushing your agenda hard enough.Bush figured that out. |

Uh...no. PETA is for "total animal liberation" according to Ingrid Newkirk. No animal farming of any kind, no pets, no work animals, not even the blind would be allowed to have a guide dog if PETA had their way. It's just too bad they're outright hypocrites and liars.
