The US already offers the poor free health care. Its called Medicaid. There are several million people who qualify right now, but for one reason or another haven't signed up.

$2,600,000 / 316,000 = $8.22 per bong. I don't see these being very good at that cost. Who knows what dangerous things are in Chinese bongs... They have no problem putting lead on children's toys. They also have no problem putting melamine in milk and formula. I don't agree with the reasons for the seizure of them.. But.. Maybe it's better they don't end up here being used.

I go to UCSD and see a ton of money being wasted in poor administrative decisions every day. The school doesn't any money, BUT they have plenty of money to build new buildings in three or four different spots on campus.And, you know, they're the group that approved spending $11,000 on rent for the UC president's house (who makes some ridiculous amount of money already and should be able to pay for his own house). They continue to make poor decisions, so it's no wonder they're running out of money.
